BWC: May and June Promotions

Attention to Orders.

It’s that time again when we recognize the effort put into the Black Widow Company by its members.

New Recruits to BWC are subjected to a mandatory two week trial period so they can test to see if BWC is what they’re looking for and for their C&S to see if they are a good fit. They complete a quick Onboarding to introduce them to how we run things in BWC such as Opserv and how their chosen gaming division works, and one operation where

BWC's Game Exploration division is always on the look out for new and exciting games that are not only fun, but also serve to develop teamwork and camaraderie. We are hereby proud to introduce the hottest games that BWC is looking to invest into. With enough interest, these games may become a battalion in one of our divisions in the future!

So without further ado, let us take a closer look at GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands (GRW) is an open world, tactical shooter utilizing a third person perspective. Go behind enemy lines as a member of The Ghosts, a legendary US Elite Special Operations team, and create chaos that will destabilize and eventually break the alliance between the Santa Blanca Cartel and the corrupt Bolivian government. Group up with your friends and play through the entire game in 2-4 player online co-op. Jump in and out of online squads whenever you choose, and you’ll always maintain your items, upgrades, and story progression. When playing solo you’ll have a team of three AI-controlled Ghosts providing you backup. Give them orders and they’ll help you accomplish your missions in whatever way you choose. When shifting from solo play to co-op, you’ll bring all your single-player progress online.

GRW will be the tenth installment in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise and will be the first Ghost Recon game to feature an open world environment. The game will move away from the futuristic setting introduced in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and will instead feature a setting similar to the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. Ubisoft has described it as one of the biggest open world games that they have ever published, with the game world including a wide variety of environments such as mountains, forests, deserts and salt flats.

Players who participate in the open beta or participated in the closed beta (and have purchased the game before March 31) will get access to the Unidad Conspiracy reward, which includes three exclusive missions set in the Media Luna region, one of the Unidad strongholds.

Attention to Orders.

The BWC is driven by volunteers, and today we honor those of us who have gone above and beyond to make this gaming community the best one out there. Though this is a regular announcement for BWC, what we showcase here is nothing short of extraordinary.

The following soldiers and leaders have demonstrated through their words and actions to have the desire and knowledge to ensure the standards of our community are upheld for all our members. They have all not only met minimum criteria requirements, but have also been recommended by their C&S and passed a review by Regimental C&S. We are proud of those of you who have had such a positive impact on BWC, and thank you for stepping up to the plate. Without further ado, we present the recipients of the following awards, and display their regimental write-ups detailing their actions:

SOLDIER OF THE MONTH RIBBON
LEADER OF THE MONTH RIBBON

SOLDIER OF THE MONTH LEADER OF THE MONTH
Peanuts Kiladyn
Peanuts joined in the middle of the C&S stand down in December but once things started back up he showed up to play.
Peanuts attended 18 operations in January, which is nearly all of them. He is also actively working on completing
infantry training to be a flexible soldier in upcoming battles. - Warfare Division C&S
Kiladyn is a relatively recent addition to the ARMA 3 regiment but has really stepped up in January. He has organized
and ran 5 operations during off-times for people interested in Domination and has expressed eagerness to join the
training department as a Drill Instructor, working very quickly to get the certifications he needs to act in the role.

His eagerness to take on responsibilities and run ops to benefit the regiment have earned him Leader of the
Month for January. - Warfare Division C&S

SOLDIER OF THE MONTH LEADER OF THE MONTH
John De Featherstone
Looking over the last month or so, BWC has seen many old faces jumping back into mechs and new ones joining the unit.
But one name in particular sticks out, John De. Having attended 21 operations over the period, John De is always a
friendly face and an enthusiastic pilot who endeavors to improve his own skills and support the Unit. Having attended
4 FTXs, 11 Green Ops, 1 training, and even 1 Epic Op John De is always willing to listen to advice, and help those
who ask. C&S have watched John De become a fine pilot, and a force to be recognized on the field of combat.

Aside from performance John De is a pleasant personality to have in the Unit. Always in a good mood, and up for
a good laugh, John's demeanor rubs off on those around him. Even on the rough nights where BWC is having less
than stellar matches John De doesn't let it get him down. Instead he asks what are we doing wrong, what can we
do better? And takes the advice without argument or hard feelings and does what he can to help BWC correct and
improve. Based on these considerations I nominate John De as Soldier of the Month.
- HighPlains_Drifter, MWO Battalion OIC
In the past month one person has not only showed up to every single EU operation without missing a beat, but also
leads drops in each and every single one of them. That person is Featherstone. Feather is a reliable pilot who will
never refuse to lead a drop if asked. And when not leading himself he's always ready to offer advice and help out
those who need it. No matter what happens during the operations he always keep his spirits up and try to
encourage the rest of the group on a friendly manner.

He is without a doubt a role model to how one should lead drops and the attitude a leader should adopt. As such
I hereby nominate him to be Leader of the Month. - HighPlains_Drifter, MWO Battalion OIC

SOLDIER OF THE MONTH LEADER OF THE MONTH
Irunslow twitch760
Getting willing and able galaxy pilots for Planetside 2 has always been a challenge. They're expensive, they're slow
and difficult to maneuver, and they're easy targets. As a result, most people want to keep their resources for C4,
revive grenades, etc. and the request to have someone pull a galaxy is not often well received. For many months,
I stepped down from Lance and assisted with galaxy piloting with Shield, but when my new billet was given to me,
I stressed about finding a replacement galaxy pilot who would be willing to routinely pull and be the dedicated sky
whale for the squad.

During the transition from shield gal pilot to Cataphract lead, Irunslow would request to pull a galaxy when I wasn't
pulling one. Over time, I allowed him to be the one to pull right from the get-go and kept my mouth shut. Now with
my new billet, Irunslow has continued to stay on as the dedicated galaxy pilot for Shield. And not only does he pull,
but he is also 100% focused on always getting Shield to point, even if it risks his galaxy getting shot down. That
right there, the willingness to lose your assets just to see your team succeed, is exactly what I look for in BWC
soldiers. By putting the squad first and himself second, I feel Irunslow embodies much of what it means to be
a BWC soldier, especially when it comes to Loyalty, Dependability, Selfless Service and Personal Courage.
- Kaizure, PS2 Support Team Combat Sergeant
Since being appointed as the infantry combat sergeant, Twitch has been working on his squad leading abilities to great
effect. He has started off well but over the last few weeks has improved substantially. He constantly adjusts his squad
to better counter enemy movement, takes initiative in ordering his squad to counter enemy spawn options and enemy
armor without being told to, and is always level headed even during the toughest fights. I have never once seen him
lose his temper when the fight is goping against us or get frustrated at his squad when they make mistakes. He
instead corrects their actions in a calm and collected manor and soldiers on.

On top of this, he is also working on a series of field training exercises to better his squad in the field through
teamwork exercises and working on holding different sorts of buildings in planetside through coordinated sectors
of fire and concise communication.

Twitch is the ideal infantry squad leader for planetside and I only see him improving in this role in the future.
- ostagon11b, PS2 Battalion OIC

SOLDIER OF THE MONTH LEADER OF THE MONTH
drax Chaos2112
Anyone playing World of Warships can testify how difficult it is to obtain a Kraken achievement by getting 5 kills in a
12v12 PVP match. Drax not only demonstrated the high level of skill and situational awareness required but cranked
it up a notch or two, resulting in an impressive 8 kill battle and an outstanding victory. It is with great pleasure
I nominate him for SotM for January. - Warfare Division C&S
Chaos joined BWC in the end of November 2016 and in that short time period he has already attended 30 operations
and 8 trainings. After completing the Opserv training, he started scheduling ops with a 7.8 average attendance over
6 ops in January. His dedication is much appreciated and as such, I would like to nominate him for LotM for
January. -
Warfare Division C&S

It is always a pleasure to recognize the dedication of our soldiers and leaders who selflessly dedicate themselves to helping their fellow peers and maintaining the principles upon which our organization was founded upon. We are a community of gamers first and foremost, and there wouldn’t be a community as great as ours without the efforts of people such as those named above. Once again, thank you all so much for your service to the continued excellence of the Black Widow Company.
